Yacata temples, Tzintzuntzan

The Yacatas were 5 temples dedicated to the old purepecha/tarasco deities. The most important were Kurikaueri (Fire/Sun) and Xaratanga (Moon). The ancient tarascos were the prime rivals of the aztecs during the century before the spaniard conquest.
